Black Flag at the Jockey Club | Newport, KY

I stumbled on this cool punk scene that happened back in the day in Kentucky.
A great Venue full of history. Originally a very swanky mobbed up speakeasy/casino from the days of prohibition it became just another forgotten dive bar. And of course thats where great things happen. The Jockey Club played its part as the center for the Cinci tri-State area punk scene.

Beisdes the local bands they played host to the Ramones, Husker Du, DOA Black Flag and even Suicidal Tendencies.

Photos are from the Jockey Club's Myspace page

Connecting with peeps I haven't seen in 15 or so years. Lots of them saved flyers and pics from some great shows.

Victor Griffin | Late for an Early Grave CD Cover

part of the history of DC area DOOM guitarist for the band Death Row then Pentagram and most recently Place of Skulls.

This video is of Pentagram (with Victor on guitar) filmed at the Sliver Fox in Woodbridge, VA February 1983. The Silver Fox was a dive bar off Route 1 near the Octopus Garden -the only head shop in Woodbridge. It's not called the Silver Fox anymore it's now some Mexican joint. I remember when I was growing up some guy killed someone with a shotgun in the front of the club. Its also the place Bill Hughes stole all the inflatable beer bottles.
